Employee “FREE CHOICE” Act
Unions have made labor law changes at the federal level. The center piece of this initiative is the Employee Free Choice Act. This Act will significantly change the labor law landscape. The card check recognition aspect of the Act is that employers who violate existing labor laws face increased penalties. The Employee Free Choice Act will also reinstate card check recognition as a means to union representation. Employers have twice the reason to review their policies and procedures now to ensure they are compliant with federal labor law.
HR800: To amend the National Labor Relations Act to establish an efficient system to enable employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to provide for mandatory injunctions for unfair labor practices during organizing efforts, and for other purposes.
